Accessibility Act
Accessibility Statement
Hochkar & Ötscher Tourismus GmbH strives to make its websites accessible to everyone.
This accessibility statement applies to www.hochkar.com, shop.hochkar.com, www.oetscher.at, and shop.oetscher.at.
1. Status of Compliance with Requirements
These websites are partially compliant with the AA conformance level of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2” and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) according to Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on accessibility requirements for products and services, due to the following incompatibilities/exemptions.
2. Non-accessible or Partially Accessible Content
The following content is not fully accessible for the reasons stated below:
a. Incompatibility with Accessibility Requirements / Disproportionate Burden
- PDF and Word documents (especially older ones) used on the websites are not fully accessible. If you need information from one of our PDF or Word documents, please contact us. We will make every effort to provide the information in an alternative format.
- The videos on our websites are currently not accessible. Adapting them represents a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility requirements. We are working to make new videos accessible as soon as possible.
- Alternative texts for images are not always optimally chosen. We are working to provide all images with appropriate alternative texts for screen reader users. Editors are being trained and made aware of this.
- We strive to write our texts without abbreviations and foreign words and to avoid complicated sentence structures. If you find a text difficult to understand and therefore only partially accessible, please contact us. We will provide an easier-to-understand version.
- Lists such as accommodation, events, gastronomy, points of interest, offers, and regional listings are based on structured data from our tourism database and are currently only partially accessible.
- The layout of the websites is adapted to the display interfaces of various devices. By setting the "viewport" -tag to "maximum-scale=1", zooming is disabled. Fixing this would severely impact the layout design.
- Several pages contain 'iframe' elements without labels.
- Some pages contain links without link text.
- The visual presentation of text and images containing text does not always meet the minimum contrast ratio required (except in cases provided for by law, such as logos).
The listed incompatibilities with accessibility requirements are being continuously corrected.
b. Content Outside the Scope of the Applicable Legal Provisions
- Recorded time-based media such as video and audio published before 28 June 2025.
- Interactive maps are currently not fully accessible. However, the information from the maps can be found in an accessible format on our website.
- Third-party content: Our websites partially use content from a decentralized tourism database. Our content partners are encouraged to provide accessible texts and media. However, we cannot guarantee the accessibility compliance of third-party content.
3. Preparation of the Accessibility Statement
This statement was created on June 10, 2025.
The statement was prepared based on an evaluation of the website’s compliance with the Accessibility Act (BaFG) carried out by Hochkar & Ötscher Tourismus GmbH through a self-assessment according to WCAG 2.2.
4. Feedback and Contact Information
The website content is continuously updated and expanded. To ensure this, our staff regularly reviews all pages. Ease of use and accessibility are of great importance to us.
If you encounter barriers on our websites that limit or restrict your use, please contact us at the following email addresses: info@hochkar.com or info@oetscher.at
