Tradition meets Spring Skiing

When dirndls and lederhosen meet the ski slopes, it’s time once again for the Trachtengwand Ski Day at Hochkar. On Saturday, March 21, 2026, skiing becomes a celebration of tradition, mountain fun and spring atmosphere.
Come dressed in traditional attire and be rewarded: enjoy a 50% discount on the day ticket, available directly at the lift ticket office on site when wearing a dirndl or lederhosen.
Hut Rally Across the Ski Area
A special highlight is the hut rally with stamp pass. Ski from hut to hut, collect stamps and return your completed pass by 3:30 pm at the Latschen-Alm.
Starting at 3:30 pm, there will be a raffle of traditional costume vouchers and many other prizes at the Latschen-Alm among all guests present.
Program & Atmosphere
From 2:00 pm, enjoy traditional folk dance and Schuhplattler performances by the Volkstanzgruppe Oberndorf/Melk and the Kothbergtaler Schuhplattler at the Gasthaus Talstation.
From 4:00 pm, it’s time for après-ski at the Latschen-Alm and to celebrate the end of a perfect ski day together.
Skiing with Alpine Spirit
The Trachtengwand Ski Day is a true highlight of the Hochkar spring season. Whether on the slopes, during the hut rally or at the afternoon celebration – skiing becomes a full experience.
So take your traditional outfit out of the closet, put on your skis and celebrate spring at Hochkar.
